Edge of Space Academy at the University of Iowa
I recently had the opportunity to participate in the Edge of Space Academy at the University of Iowa. I am grateful to Dr. Susan Meerdink, Dr. Adam Skibbe, Dr. Allison Jaynes, and Dr. Dustin Swarm for providing such an engaging introduction to physics research.
During the program, I worked on the UAV Drone Fusion project as a member of Team PRISM (Prairie Remote Imaging and Sensor Mapping). Serving as the Systems Engineer, I was responsible for overseeing sensor integration and data collection efforts. Through this role, I developed hands-on skills in soldering, system integration, and field operations.
Following data collection, I contributed to the analysis of our results, focusing on identifying meaningful patterns within noisy datasets. Our team presented our findings in an oral presentation, highlighting both the scientific results and their broader significance.
The experience strengthened my technical skills, introduced me to new approaches in research and data analysis, and gave me valuable experience collaborating on an interdisciplinary engineering project.
For those interested in the technical details of our work, additional information can be found in my Projects section.
